Strength Training: Who Should Be Weight Lifting?

Because of it’s many benefits, strength training is possibly the most important of the activities for exercise. More and more people are doing it because it helps anyone with any goal

What is Strength Training?

The term strength training is synonymous with weight lifting and resistance training. All involve pushing or pulling a load that is more than a person experiences in their everyday life so that their bodies will adapt. The adaptation will depend on the muscles being used and the intensity of the effort. For example, one exerciser could lift heavy weights for few repetitions and continue until exhaustion. That person would adapt by becoming much stronger. A second person might use a more moderate resistance, with short rests between bouts, and take each exercise to fatigue. That person might adapt by developing larger muscles. Yet another person might lift lighter weights for more repetitions and stop after reaching a mild fatigue. That person would achieve a milder amount of strength and very little risk of muscle growth. [hmtad name=”In Content” align=”left”]
